Fauna
The fauna that can survive in these conditions and with this vegetation are birds like woodpeckers and hawks. The large moose, carnivors like the bear, weasel, lynx, fox, and wolf. There are also Fauna like the Deer, hares, chipmunks, shrews and even bats. Most animals have adapted to migration, heavier coats of fur, and change in color like the snowshoe rabbit. Mice and Moles also live under the ground in tunnels and many animals that live in the taiga hibernate. Hibernation during the winter is an adaptation during the winter because food is scarce. Also the taiga has many lakes and swamps that in summer attract birds that feed on aquatic organisms. However the cold winter usually drives birds to migrate south.
